This 1964 Volkswagen Type 2 11-window bus is powered by an air-cooled 1,776cc flat-four linked to a four-speed manual transaxle and features a full-flow oiling system, a balanced rotating assembly, and an A-1 Sidewinder exhaust system. It is finished in turquoise and white over two-tone gray vinyl upholstery and features 15″ steel wheels, whitewall tires, drum brakes, a Bendix Sapphire I push-button AM radio, jail bars, and a wire basket with integrated cupholders in addition to sliding front windows, six pop-out side windows, and safari-style cargo glass and windshields. The bus was refurbished under previous ownership and acquired by the seller in April 2023. This Type 2 T1 is now offered with engine build documents and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The bus is finished in turquoise and white and features dual wood slat roof racks, six pop-out side windows, safari-style cargo glass and windshields, dual side-view mirrors, and white bumpers with overriders. Steel 15″ wheels wear chrome VW-stamped hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series whitewall tires. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners. The walkthrough cabin features front bucket seats and two rows of bench seating trimmed in two-tone gray vinyl joined by matching door and side panels. Interior elements include a Bendix Sapphire I push-button AM radio, sliding side windows, an overhead ventilation unit, a parcel shelf, and a wire basket with integrated cupholders. Jail bars are fitted in the rear cargo area. Instrumentation consists of an 80-mph speedometer, a fuel-level readout, and an oil temperature gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 17k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership. The air-cooled flat-four was modified to displace 1,776cc by Das Wagen Shop of Fullerton, California, in July 2018.
