The seller states that this 1965 Buick is a Gran Sport, but this can’t be confirmed without an original window sticker or build sheet. The Gran Sport option was new for 1965 and included the 360-horsepower, 425-cu.in. r dcat engine with twin four-barrel carburetors; a larger diameter exhaust system; a modified transmission; a 3.42:1-geared positive traction axle (other ratios could be ordered); and Gran Sport wheel covers and badges. Heavy-duty suspension and quicker steering could be ordered at extra cost, but wasn’t included with the GS option.

 

He recalls, “I believe I’m the third owner and I don’t know much about the first. The person I acquired the car from bought it in 1969. I think he drove it regularly for a couple years and then sparingly is what I was told. It’s been garage kept since the early 1970s, and in 1973 he took the dual quads off of it because of the high gas prices.”
