In December of 1968, s J.O. purchased this 1969 Karmann Ghia Coupe at a south Georgia dealership. (A copy of the invoice is available.) After so many years, she eventually fully restored this car. But because she had always longed for a red corvette, she changed the exterior paint from “cypress green” to its current beautiful lipstick red. The interior was also updated from the original leatherette light sand for a red on red classy look. s J.O. showcased this excellent example of a VW Karmann Ghia in various car shows. (Original paper clippings available.)
Eventually, s J.O. returned back to the very dealership where she purchased it. This is where I then bought this KG as it was displayed on the showroom floor nearing its 50th anniversary.
Only the steering rod dampener and 4 new tires were replaced. I obtained a copy of the VW certificate and data sheet from the museum in , Deutschland. ne is original to the car. There is also a brochure and owners manual.
