This 1969 280SE 3.5 V8 was imported from many in 1 and it had sat for some time by then.  He had decided to get it into better shape before he died and took the car in to have a complete engine rebuild.  I inherited the car while it was still in the shop and from 2011 until 2013 or so there were a number of repairs made to get the car in good running condition.  These included the engine rebuild, a rebuild of the 4-speed automatic transmission, all bushings, seals, etc. from the rear motor mount to the back of the car, new coil, tachometer rebuilt, plus a number of other repairs.  There is a gizmo on the rear axle that keeps the car level no mater how much weight you put in the trunk and this is a gas filled device that as far as I know cannot be rebuilt.  We replaced it with a spring device that works just as well and I still have the original if a way to rebuild them is discovered.  $20,000 was spent on these repairs.  The car has great power and really goes well.  Since getting the car running correctly it has been taken on a few trips but has been used about 750 miles per year for approximately 10,200 miles since 2011.  The lights all work, the turn signals need to be held “on” while in use or they switch off. The radio works for the first 5 minutes and then once warmed up, quits.  I understand this is an easy fix but since so little on AM/FM is worth listening to I have never fixed it.  The car came to us with inauthentic wheels and my father changed the four road wheels to original but the spare is the same as purchased.  The odometer indicates 39,500 but this is clearly 139,500.  I will be driving it around the erey area for the Pebble urs this year so if you are coming you might see it there.  This car has been in our family for 45 years and I hate to sell it but am more of a pre-war car guy so time to move this someone who will appreciate it more.  Open to offers, and thanks for looking at the ad.  (PS.  Shooting those videos are trickier than I thought, apologies for the poor quality.)
