1 190SL that gets as close as you can get!
d in 1962 as the second owner, this 190SL has been in the same family for 62 years. A fornia car, one of only 830 imported into the U.S. in 1955, always garage kept and covered.
The few upgrades or changes include hose clamps, larger battery and hold-down (original hold-down included), brand new Bilstein Shocks and tires in 2022, new top in 2021, coco mats (some of the floor mats are original), original small taillights replaced with larger later year models.
In 1962 the new owner was the proprietor of an to y shop. The factory paint and finish on this newly acquired 190SL did not meet the high standards of the shop. The car was hand sanded and repainted with original factory paint and color (see photos). The care and quality of the work can clearly be seen today.
The new owner was an avid collector of both cars and parts. Rarely did a 190SL part cross his path that it wasn’t purchased. These parts included engines, transmissions, hard tops, sheet metal, gaskets, carburetors, steering wheels, hubcaps, badges, branded products, etc., etc.
A handpicked sampling of these parts has been added to this sale (see photos):
