1941 Buick Roadmaster Blue

Described by the seller as number Buick dmaster Convertible Phaeton, specifically a ies 71C model, is presented as “an unmolested survivor,” with its “complete original engine and drivetrain,” and retaining its 6-volt electrical system. The dmaster series was powered in 1941 by Buick’s 320-cu.in. OHV inline-eight. With a compression ratio of 7.0:1, the engine received its fuel/air mixture via a two-barrel carburetor and was rated by the manufacturer at 165 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine in this Buick is described as original to the car, with an unknown rebuild history. The engine retains its original 6-volt electrical systems, and reportedly idles smoothly after a cold start. Occasional light smoke is noted. No functional issues with the manual transmission are cited. No powertrain leaks are observed. The engine bay shows moderate grime. 

The non-factory blue paint is believed to date from the middle 1950s and shows patina, plus splotchiness and areas of surface rust in numerous locations. The body seals are “definitely aged and not intact.” The seller notes surface rust on the Buick’s dashboard and “some deteriorated metal at the bottom underside of the right rear door.” All body panels appear to be straight except for some waviness in the rockers.
