Description
1970 Datsun 240Z build date of 4/70, SN HLS30-03676. The original model year for this iconic sports car, which is often referred to as a series 1. The 1970 series 1 model is visually distinguished from later years by the two cabin air exhaust vents on the exterior rear hatch. These are relocated in later years.
This 240Z was purchased in the southern CA high desert region and shipped to Mi where it received fresh paint in 70 ber with black, a sporty and one of a kind look on this car. Vehicle came to the current owner with a larger 2.8L block. The high compression 240Z E31 head paired with the bigger block provides a potent combination, adding more horse power and torque and providing a much more exhilarating driving experience than stock. A more aggressive CAM, exhaust header, and flow work on the intake manifold allow the engine to breath better, further putting more Zip in this Z. The R180 rear diff was also upgraded to a stronger 3.73 ratio R200 to manage the extra power, providing a more robust power-train through to the rear end. An oil cooler came on this car as well, keeping the high performance engine cool in hot climates like southern CA. Anyone that has owned a stock 240Z understands that a car that handles this well, and looks this good, could use a boost beyond the stock miles on the engine rebuild.
The car has been well maintained and recent service includes: 2019: New rear wheel cylinders, brakes shoes and brake hoses, clutch master and slave cylinders. 2022: New master cylinder and new re-built master vac, new rear differential mount, rear end and trans fluid replaced, new plugs and new fan belt. 2023 Electric fuel pump replaced. 2024 new tires, new battery, new radiator and upper lower hoses, fresh motor oil & filter and air filter.
There are no leaks, no door dings and the car does not smoke or burn oil. There are 12,640 well documented miles driven on the vehicle since mber 1998. Odometer reads 51,900 miles. This is a fast revving, tight handling, great looking, awesome sounding, and exciting sports car to drive! It draws a great deal of attention whenever on the road, in town, or at a car show.
