For : 1950 23rd ies Packard Standard 8

I’ve seen a few Packards as nice as this one over the years,  but they were either on a trailer at a car show or in a museum.  This one is nicer than the one in the Packard eum in .  I’m only selling because I’ve got a bad shoulder and cannot steer it anymore.  Plus I need the room.

288 cid engine with Ultramatic transmission.  ne and transmission were rebuilt 300 miles ago. Complete rebuild of cooling system, including radiator, water pump, hoses and brass distribution tube inside the engine.  built generator, replacement voltage regulator, new battery and belts.  New engine driven fuel/vacuum pump.  Complete new exhaust system 25 miles ago.
ts, runs and drives like new. Added electric fuel pump with switch hidden under dash.  kes replaced, including shoes, drums, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake lines and hardware.

Maroon paint with Grey cloth interior.  Upholstery shows no wear or tears. Headliner is unblemished. Carpet in excellent condition. Standard 8s came with rubber floor covering. This one has had carpet added. Included is an uninstalled new reproduction rubber front floor covering.  Running board covers are looking a little tattered.  So also included is a new, uninstalled set of running board covers with Packard logo.  No cracks in steering wheel, all engine gauges work, as do the clock, wipers and radio.

nt is recent, excellent and shiny.  If “10 footer” is kinda the standard, this one is a “6 incher”.  A couple of rock pecks, but otherwise great.  There is no evidence of any rust…EVER, except for usual surface rust underneath.  s a sunvisor and fender skirts.  All the glass is clear.  Door and trunk weatherstrips are new, as are all the rubber hood bumpers.

Chrome, hubcaps and emblems are all present and shiny.  There were 3 different hood ornaments available in 1950.  The original hood ornament called “The Goddess of Speed” by Packard but nicknamed “ y With a ut” is included.  The more familiar “Cormorant” ornament is installed on the car.  The 3rd available ornament is pretty rare, called the “ ian”, and one of those…although damaged…is included also.   haul and parts manuals are included, plus 2 car covers.

Additional parts if you want them include a torn-down 288 engine with crank reground .10/.10, engine block, original pistons, rods and head, all in good condition but not rebuilt.  A manual transmission (not rebuilt) is also included.

This is a nice car, but it ISN’T a show car!  There are some small rust pits on the chrome wing window frames, the dash is painted body color (I think it was wood-grained from the factory), could use vent window weatherstrip and tires.  The package tray is faded and there’s a stain on the top of the back seat.  When I washed it before taking pictures I found a dent in the left front hubcap.
