This 1955 Jaguar XK140 roadster was purchased by the owner in 1978 and has been registered in Arizona since. The car is finished in white over red vinyl upholstery and is powered by a modified inline-six paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. Equipment includes a black soft top, Lucas front fog lamps, dual SU carburetors, chrome bumpers and side mirrors, wind wings, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and polished 16″ knock-off wire wheels. This XK140 roadster is now offered on dealer consignment in California with an owner’s handbook, a tonneau cover, side windows, and a clean Arizona title. Previously finished in red, the car was repainted in white prior to the seller’s acquisition. Equipment includes chrome bumpers and overriders, fender-mounted side mirrors, wind wings, Lucas front fog lamps, and dual exhaust outlets. The black soft top is not installed properly, and side windows and a tonneau cover are included in the sale. Cracks are noted in the paint along with stone chips. Chrome 16” wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 185-series Firestone Cavallino Sport 200 tires. A matching spare is mounted in the trunk. Braking is through drums at all four corners, and the car rides on Koni Classic front shocks and rear leaf springs. The parking brake is inoperable. The seats are trimmed in red vinyl, and the black carpeting is covered with red Jaguar-branded mats. Additional equipment includes a wood shift knob, a heater, door pockets, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger grab handle, and wood trim. A tear is noted in the shift boot, and the horn is inoperable. The wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 5,700 miles and does not work. The total mileage is unknown. The selling dealer notes that the twin-cam inline-six was bored and rebuilt in 1991 using a replacement crankshaft and D-Type–spec pistons from XKs Unlimited. Additional equipment includes dual SU carburetors, a Lucas ignition coil, and an aftermarket upper radiator coolant hose. The cylinder head stamping is shown above. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The exhaust system has been repaired in several places, and corrosion is present on the underside. An operator’s manual is included in the sale.
