This 1963 BMW 700 cabriolet reportedly spent much of its life in a collection in Switzerland prior to being imported to the US in 2023. It is finished in silver over blue vinyl and is powered by an air-cooled 697cc flat-twin paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a black soft top, 12″ wheels with covers, four-wheel drum brakes, front bucket seats, a wood shift knob, a lockable glovebox, and rubber floor coverings. This 700 is now offered in California at no reserve with the owner’s manual, a maintenance log, service records, a tool kit, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC. The 700 cabriolet body was manufactured by Karosserie Baur, with approximately 2,500 models produced. This example is finished in silver, and exterior equipment includes a black soft top, chrome trim and bumpers, and a fender-mounted driver-side mirror. Imperfections on the trim and right-front fender can be viewed in the gallery. The 12″ wheels wear BMW-branded covers and are mounted with Camac tires. Stopping power is provided by drums at all four corners. The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in blue vinyl complemented by two-tone vinyl door panels. Interior appointments include a floor-mounted shifter, a wood shift knob, a lockable glovebox, hand-crank side windows, and rubber floor coverings. A tear is present on the shifter boot. The white two-spoke steering wheel frames a 150-km/h speedometer and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 32k kilometers (~20k miles), approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The air-cooled 697cc flat-twin routes power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Service conducted in May 2023 included a carburetor adjustment, an oil change, and the replacement of the battery. Additional photos of the underbody are presented in the gallery.
