This 1959 MGA Twin Cam roadster was refurbished in the early 2000s with a repaint in blue over a reupholstered red leather interior, and it was acquired by the current owner in 2007. The 1,588cc inline-four was overhauled in 2023 and fitted with replacement pistons, a Weber intake manifold and carburetors, a Bosch ignition coil, and a Bluetooth-programable distributor. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission, a black soft top, 15″ steel wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, an aftermarket exhaust system, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a heater, and lap belts. This MGA Twin Cam roadster is now offered on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, manufacturer’s literature, removed parts, tools and accessories, partial service records, and a clean Oregon title in the owner’s name. The car left the factory finished in black and was repainted its current shade of blue during the aforementioned refurbishment. Exterior details include a black soft top, front and rear Twin Cam badging, Lucas headlights, bright-finished overrider bumpers, a two-tone horn system, and a single exhaust outlet. The car is not equipped with side mirrors. Rock chips are present on the hood and fenders, and blemishes in the rear paint are shown in the gallery. Dunlop-branded 15″ steel wheels are secured with two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 165-series Michelin XAS tires. A spare is stored under a cover in the trunk. Blemishes are noted on two of the wheels. The car is equipped with rack-and-pinion steering, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs. The cabin houses low-back bucket seats that were reupholstered in burgundy leather that extends to the center armrest, dashboard, door panels, and door caps. Appointments are composed of black carpeting, a heater, a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, and replacement lap belts. The replacement wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a centrally mounted fuel level gauge and a combination gauge with readouts for oil pressure and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 6k miles, and total mileage is unknown. The 1,588cc B-series inline-four was overhauled in 2023 by the selling dealer, Vintage Underground of Eugene, Oregon, with replacement pistons and springs, a Weber intake manifold and dual carburetors, a Bosch ignition coil, and a 123ignition Bluetooth-programmable distributor. Additional cooling ductwork and a thermostatically controlled electric fan were reportedly fitted. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. An aftermarket exhaust system was fitted during the refurbishment. The included British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate lists production information and dates. Filed under: mg, mg a
