This 1965 Sunbeam Tiger Mk 1 is said to have been refurbished in the 1980s and was acquired by the current owner in 2017. The car is finished in green over black vinyl upholstery, and power is from a replacement 289ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a body-color hardtop, a black vinyl soft top, 13″ alloy wheels, front disc brakes, rear traction bars, and exhaust headers. This Mk 1A Tiger is offered on dealer consignment with a Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association Certificate of Authenticity, a car cover, a tool kit, and a clean Michigan title. Finished from the factory in Forest Green (86), the car is said to have been repainted under prior ownership. Exterior details include a body-color hardtop, a black vinyl soft top, chrome bumpers with overriders, a left mirror mounted on the A-pillar, dual polished exhaust tips, and “Powered by Ford 289” badges. Swirls are visible in the paint, and stone chips are present on the rocker panels. Silver 13″ LAT 70-style alloy wheels feature Sunbeam Tiger-logo spinners and wear 175/70 Bridgestone Potenza RE92 tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes, and the car is equipped with rear traction bars. The cabin houses two bucket seats that have been reupholstered in black vinyl along with a color-coordinated dash surround, door panels, and carpets. A replacement woodgrain dash panel has been fitted, and additional features include rubber floor mats with the Sunbeam Tiger script, a heater, a Smiths analog clock, a Clarion cassette stereo, a locking center console, and lap belts. Bores for removed components are present in the dash panel. A leather-wrapped Moto-Lita steering wheel sits ahead of Jaeger instrumentation including a 5,500-rpm tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. A Lucas ammeter is mounted on the left. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement 289ci V8 was installed under prior ownership and is said to be equipped with an aftermarket camshaft. Additional equipment includes “Tiger Powered by Ford” valve covers, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley carburetor, an open-element air cleaner, and exhaust headers. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The seller notes oxidation on underside components, and additional underbody photos are presented in the gallery below. The Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association certificate of authenticity was issued in September 2023 and lists the original color code, engine number, JAL number, and chassis serial number.
