This 1962 Triumph TR3B is powered by a 2,138cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive and is finished in red over black vinyl upholstery. Features include a black vinyl soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, a chrome front bumper and rear bumperettes, rear fender stone guards, a banjo-spoke steering wheel, Jaeger instrumentation, and a heater. The car was delivered new to Standard Triumph Motor Company Inc. in Detroit, Michigan, and was later refurbished under previous ownership. Acquired by the seller in January 2022, this TR3B is now offered in New York with a tonneau cover, removable side curtains, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, a tool kit, and a Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC. Finished from the factory in Signal Red and equipped with a white soft top, the car was repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment. A black vinyl soft top and matching removable side curtains have been installed, and additional exterior details include Lucas driving lights, “tripod” headlights, a chrome front bumper, rear bumperettes, fender-mounted mirrors, a polished fuel filler cap, rear fender stone guards, and a single exhaust outlet. A tonneau cover is included in the sale, and the seller notes touch-up paint has been applied to various pinhead-sized chips on the body. Chrome 15″ wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 165-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A full-size spare is stowed in the rear compartment. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl with white piping. Appointments include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a heater, lap belts, all-weather floor mats, and a passenger grab bar. The banjo-spoke steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer. Auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage are mounted in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 7k miles, approximately 300 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 2,138cc inline-four was reportedly overhauled under previous ownership and is equipped with dual SU carburetors, an aluminum radiator, and a polished valve cover. An oil change was carried out in May 2023. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with an electronically actuated overdrive unit. Rust is noted on the underside. The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists initial delivery to Standard Triumph Motor Company Inc. in Detroit, Michigan as well as colors, factory equipment, and a September 3, 1962 build date.
