This 1958 Pontiac Bonneville is one of a reported 3,096 Custom convertibles produced for the model year. It underwent a refurbishment that was completed under previous ownership before it was purchased by the selling dealer in 2023. The car is finished in two-tone black and white over gray and silver leather upholstery, and power comes from a 370ci V8 that is topped with three two-barrel carburetors and paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-operated white soft top, power-assisted steering and drum brakes, fender-mounted mirrors, rear fender skirts, a power-operated antenna, front bucket seats, a heater and defroster, an AM radio with a rear speaker, and lap belts. Service performed in preparation for the sale included the installation of a replacement battery and rear ashtray as well as an adjustment of the front carburetor. This Bonneville is now offered with a Pennsylvania title. The Bonneville became a standalone model for 1958 and featured all-new styling that included the addition of quad headlights and taillights. This example was delivered from the factory in Persian Black and Greystone White (AAY) and was repainted under previous ownership. Features include a power-operated white soft top, Bonneville badging, fender-mounted side mirrors, Tri-Power fender badges, rear fender skirts, a concealed fuel filler door, a power-operated antenna, reverse lights, and a dual exhaust system that exits under the rear bumper. Painted 14″ steel wheels wear Pontiac-branded chrome hubcaps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown bias-ply whitewall tires. A full-size spare wheel is stowed in the trunk. The Bonneville rode on a 122″ wheelbase, and power-assisted steering and four-wheel drum brakes were standard equipment. The cabin features front and rear bucket seats trimmed in gray and silver leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Gray carpets line the floors, and additional equipment includes a push-button AM radio with a rear speaker, a Circulaire heater and defroster, front and rear lap belts, and Pontiac-branded rubber floor mats. A replacement rear ashtray was installed in December 2023. The two-spoke gray-painted steering wheel has a chrome horn ring and fronts a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows under 3k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown. The 370ci V8 features five main bearings and triple two-barrel carburetors. Output was factory rated at 300 horsepower. A replacement battery was installed and the front carburetor was serviced by the selling dealer in December 2023. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed Strato-Flight Hydramatic transmission. The underhood cowl tag decodes as follows: Style 58-2567SD – 1958 Pontiac Bonneville Custom convertible Body No. P 1186 – Fisher Body Plant, Pontiac, Michigan, body number Trim 285-1 – Gray and silver leather upholstery Paint AAY – Persian Black and Greystone White paint 1 – White soft top B – Circulaire heater and defroster EX – Electric antenna JX – Instrument panel pad The Pennsylvania title carries an “Exempt from odometer disclosure” notation.
