This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 was originally built as P-Code, four-speed convertible and was purchased by the seller in 2013, with a refurbishment completed nine years later. It is now powered by a replacement bored and stroked V8 said to displace 456ci and equipped with a SCAT crankshaft and connecting rods, Diamond forged pistons, a Comp Cams solid-lifter camshaft, low-riser cylinder heads, and PerTronix ignition. The engine is topped by three two-barrel carburetors and is linked with a Toploader four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in Pagoda Green over black pleated vinyl and is equipped with a black soft top, body-color 15″ steel wheels with Ford-branded hubcaps, and a heater. This Galaxie 500 is now offered at no reserve with a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name. Finished from the factory in Pagoda Green (B), the car was partially repainted in 2022, at which time the black soft top and glass rear window were replaced. Styling incorporates quad headlights, dual side mirrors, back-up lights, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers. A majority of the seller’s photos were taken in May 2023. Body-color 15″ Kelsey-Hayes steel wheels feature Ford-branded hubcaps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown tires. The car is said to be equipped with 11×3″ front drum brakes, a heavy-duty sway bar, six rear leaf springs, and heavy-duty front springs. The cabin houses bench seats upholstered in black pleated vinyl. The three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 59k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. The factory P-code 390ci V8 has been replaced with a V8 that has been bored and stroked to 456ci, with components including a SCAT 4.25″ crankshaft, SCAT H-beam connecting rods, Diamond forged 4.13″-bore pistons, cross-bolted and screw-in freeze plugs, a 427 balancer, an eight-quart deep-sump oil an, a Comp Cams 270S solid-lifter camshaft, and chromoly rocker shafts with adjustable rockers and steel rocker stands. The car also features low-riser cylinder heads, P-code headers, a dual-point distributor with PerTronix ignition, and three two-barrel carburetors. The factory four-speed manual transmission has been replaced with a Toploader four-speed manual with an Ansen scatter shield. The car features a steel flywheel and a McLeod clutch. The rear end is said to house a 3.25:1 locking differential.
