1999 Ford Saleen

This 1999 Ford Mustang Saleen S-281 convertible is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Ultra White over black leather upholstery. Equipment includes a black convertible top, Saleen-specific bodywork and graphics, Racecraft suspension components, a Saleen performance exhaust system, and a factory AM/FM cassette stereo with a CD player in addition to a roll bar, air conditioning, and cruise control. The car was registered in Oklahoma before it was purchased by its current owner on BaT in September 2022. The rear spoiler was subsequently repainted, and the odometer now indicates 2,800 miles. This Saleen Mustang was listed on BaT in February 2024 and is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in Florida with manufacturer’s literature, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Oklahoma title. The car is finished in Ultra White (ZR) with a black convertible top and Saleen-specific graphics and badging as well as an extended rear spoiler, revised urethane bumper covers, side skirts, and louvered side scoops. Under current ownership, the rear spoiler was repainted. Blemishes include chipped paint around the left-front fender and a scratch ahead of the left-rear wheel opening as well as scrapes on the included removable Speedster tonneau cover which is depicted in the gallery below. White-finished 18″ five-spoke Saleen wheels are wrapped in older Pirelli P7000 tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs. The Racecraft suspension features variable-rate springs, N2 struts and shocks, and an upgraded front sway bar and pivot bushings. The front bucket seats and the rear bench are upholstered in black leather with perforated inserts and Mustang-logo front-seatback embroidery. Additional appointments include a roll bar with an integrated brake light as well as cruise control, aluminum pedals, Saleen-branded floor mats, and an AM/FM cassette stereo with a CD player. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Saleen-branded white-dial instrumentation consisting of a 200-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 2,800 miles, approximately 10 of which were added under current ownership. The 4.6-liter V8 was rated by Saleen at 285 horsepower and features a Power Flash Performance calibration in addition to a Saleen performance exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The Carfax report indicates no accidents or other damage at at least one open recall.
