This 1968 Plymouth Barracuda convertible has been modified with a 340ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in silver and purple over a matching interior. Features include a power-operated convertible top, a Holley Sniper EFI system, an Edelbrock intake manifold, electronic ignition, a Sure-Grip differential, Hotchkis suspension components, power steering, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, American Racing 17″ wheels, a Hurst shifter, Doug’s headers, and a dual exhaust system with Pypes mufflers. This modified Barracuda was sold on BaT in December 2022 and is now offered at no reserve in Canada by the selling dealer with British Columbia registration. The car is said to have been repainted in two-tone Argent Silver and Plum Crazy under previous ownership. Features include a power-operated black convertible top, 340-S hood spears, Formula S–style badging, round side-marker lights, chrome bumpers, split grilles, a quick-release fuel cap, and a fender-mounted antenna. Chrome-finished American Racing 17″ wheels reportedly were installed in 2021 and mounted with Nitto NT555 G2 tires. The car is equipped with a Borgeson power-steering box and Hotchkis Sport Suspension shock absorbers and sway bars. Braking is handled by power-assisted Wilwood calipers over drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners. The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench that have been reupholstered in gray vinyl with purple accent stripes. Equipment includes gray carpeting, a center console, a Hurst shifter, lap belts, carpeted floor mats, and a Holley Sniper EFI touchscreen controller. The wiring harnesses, dashboard, and instrumentation are said to have been replaced in 2021. The right kick panel and seatback material are loose, and the heater and the Solid State by Plymouth AM radio are inoperable. The three-spoke steering wheel is equipped with a Plymouth horn button and frames a Rallye-style 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a multifunction gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 10k miles, less than 100 of which have been added since the previous BaT listing; true mileage is unknown. The 340ci V8 was installed under prior ownership and has been fitted with a Holley Sniper EFI system, an Edelbrock intake manifold, Mallory electronic ignition, MSD ignition wires, Doug’s headers, finned Mopar Performance valve covers, and an aluminum radiator. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale. The car’s chassis number indicates that it was originally powered by a 225ci slant-six, and the underhood data tag has been removed. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an A833 four-speed manual transmission and a Sure-Grip differential. The dual exhaust system features Pypes mufflers and terminates near the rear axle. The car does not have a title and is being sold on its British Columbia registration, which serves as the ownership document in British Columbia, Canada, and lists the year/make/model as 1968 Plymouth “Barac”.
