This 1939 Lincoln-Zephyr is one of 302 convertible sedan examples produced for the model year, and it was purchased by the seller in 2017. A subsequent cosmetic refurbishment included a repaint in copper as well as the installation of saddle leather upholstery. Power comes from a 267.3ci V12 paired with a three-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes a tan soft top, rear-hinged rear doors, fender skirts, dual gloveboxes, and a heater. This Lincoln-Zephyr is now offered with factory literature, spare parts, Lincoln-Zephyr Owner’s Club literature, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The Lincoln-Zephyr was restyled for 1939 with a larger grille opening, enclosed running boards, and reshaped bumpers, and it was offered in six body styles. This example is said to have been stripped to bare metal under the seller’s ownership before it was repainted in Luxrite Copper. The brightwork was also re-chromed under the seller’s ownership, and equipment includes a hood ornament, hinge-mounted mirrors, rear-hinged rear doors, fender skirts, dual taillights, and a custom tan soft top with a color-matched boot. Detachable B-pillars are not included in the sale. Body-color steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and trim rings and are mounted with 7.00–16 Firestone bias-ply whitewall tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are stowed on a swing-out mount in the trunk. The Lincoln-Zephyr rode on a 125″ wheelbase for 1939 and featured front and rear transverse leaf springs. Four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes were introduced on the model line for 1939. The cabin features front and rear benches that were retrimmed in saddle pleated leather under the seller’s ownership along with fitment of color-matched door panels and carpets. Equipment includes dual gloveboxes, a heater, a robe cord, and rear footrests. The ivory-color banjo-style steering wheel frames a painted steel dashboard housing a 100-mph speedometer and inset auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 47k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under the seller’s ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 267.3ci V12 is topped by a downdraft carburetor and was factory rated at 110 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The engine is said to have been rebuilt in 2015. An oil leak is noted by the seller. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission.
