This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III was purchased new by the current owner’s parents who reportedly acquired the car from British Motor Car Distributors in Berkeley, California. The car wears a repaint in Metallic Golden Beige with a replacement black convertible top, and it is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The black leather interior features gold piping and burled wood accents, and it was recently reupholstered. Additional features include 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, a top boot, a tonneau cover, a hood scoop, a cabin heater, and front bucket seats. This 3000 Mk III is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate and a clean California title in the owner’s name. The car wears a repaint, reportedly in the original Metallic Golden Beige (BG19), and it features a replacement folding black soft top, a top boot, a tonneau cover, a hood scoop, bright trim, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Imperfections include paint flaws and dings. The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Nexen SB-802 tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The cabin has been reupholstered and features bucket seats and individual rear seats trimmed in black leather with gold piping. The dashboard incorporates an upholstered pad and burled wood trim. Interior appointments include a cabin heater, a center console, and a locking glovebox. The banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 71k miles. The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD8 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock-de Normanville electric overdrive.
