1966 Morgan Plus 4

This 1966 Morgan Plus 4 is a left-hand-drive example that was refinished in British Racing Green over tan leather upholstery under previous ownership, and it was sold on BaT in July 2021. Subsequent work consisted of the addition of PerTronix electronic ignition, adjusting the clutch pedal height, reinforcing the frame, and replacing the brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and coolant hoses. Powered by a 2,138cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission, the car is equipped with a beige soft top, a tan tonneau cover, a walnut dashboard, removable side curtains, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, a stainless-steel exhaust system, and Lucas headlights and driving lights. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, this Plus 4 is now offered with a tool kit, a battery tender, recent service records, workshop manuals, and a Pennsylvania title. Previously finished in yellow, the car was repainted in British Racing Green during prior ownership. Features include a replacement windshield with frame-mounted mirrors, a beige soft top, a split tonneau cover, low-cut doors, chrome bumpers with overriders, Lucas headlights and driving lights, and a leather hood strap. A set of removable side curtains is included in the sale Replacement chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels with two-eared knockoffs were trued in 2021, and they wear 165/80 Classic Radial LL800 tires, and an older spare is affixed to the rear of the car. The tie rods and driveshaft U-joints were replaced between 2016 and 2020, and the brake master cylinder, rear wheel cylinder, and rear brake shoes were replaced in 2022. The seating surfaces were reupholstered in tan leather during previous ownership, and the replacement walnut dashboard features a custom-fabricated glovebox door with a magnetic closure. A dashboard-mounted rear-view mirror has been installed along with replacement pedal pads, aircraft-style seatbelts, and sisal floor mats. A wood-rimmed steering wheel faces the driver, and Smiths instrumentation includes a 6k-rpm tachometer, a combination gauge, and a 140-mph speedometer. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 42k miles, a handful of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown. The Triumph-sourced 2,138cc inline-four sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. A stainless-steel exhaust system and replacement wiring harness were installed during prior ownership, and the engine was reportedly rebuilt in 1999. Service performed in 2021 included rebuilding the twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, repairing the generator, and installing a battery cut-off switch as well as a replacement flywheel, gaskets, clutch components, and engine mounts. In 2022, the frame was welded and reinforced, a PerTronix electronic ignition system was fitted, and a replacement distributor rotor, ignition coil, spark plugs, ignition wires, and coolant hoses were installed.
