This 1971 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller was refurbished in the mid-1990s by Charles Ware Restoration in Bristol, England, before being brought to the US in 2007 under prior ownership. It was acquired by the seller in 2009, and subsequent work involved repainting the body in white, reupholstering the interior in black vinyl, and rebuilding the 1,098cc inline-four in addition to the four-speed manual transmission. Further equipment includes 13″ Minator alloy wheels, drum brakes, wood accents, a roof rack, heated rear windows, a Sony head unit, an SU carburetor, an aftermarket camshaft and intake manifold, and PerTronix ignition components. This Morris is now offered with restoration documents, a set of 14″ steel wheels, and a Washington State title in the seller’s name. The car is finished in white and was repainted in 2012. Refurbished wood framing is fitted at the rear of the vehicle, and additional details include a custom-fabricated roof rack, hooded headlights, dual side mirrors, sliding rear side windows, heated rear windows, and chrome-finished bumpers. The windshield and seal were replaced under current ownership. The 13″ Minator alloy wheels are mounted with 165-series Thunderer City tires up front and Steel Belted Metric Radial tires at the rear. The suspension features polyurethane bushings along with a front sway bar, and the four-wheel hydraulic brake system has been overhauled. A vacuum-assisted servo was retrofitted, and additional work performed involved replacing the wheel bearings, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, hoses, springs, and brake drums and shoes. A set of 14″ steel wheels with Morris-branded hubcaps is included in the sale. The right-hand-drive cabin features low back front bucket seats and a rear bench seat upholstered in black vinyl. A Sony AM/FM/Cassette stereo is mounted in the compartment ahead of the steering wheel, and three-point seat belts have been fitted for the front occupants. A cabin heater, wood interior trim, and an adjustable driver’s seat are further details. A two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a body-color metal dashboard housing a centrally mounted 95-mph speedometer with an inset fuel level gauge. A tachometer is affixed to the steering column, and supplementary gauges for monitoring oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage are mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 11k miles and has rolled over once, according to the seller. Total chassis mileage is unknown. The 1,098cc A-series inline-four is equipped with a single SU carburetor and was rebuilt in 2009 by Autosport Seattle in Washington. Work performed involved machine work, converting the cylinder head for unleaded fuel use, balancing the rotating assembly, and replacing the pistons, bearings, valve seats, valves, springs, and freeze plugs. An aftermarket camshaft, intake manifold, alternator, Lucas distributor, and PerTronix electronic ignition components were fitted at that time. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle and a replacement differential with 3.90:1 gears. The flywheel, clutch components, and driveline U-joints were replaced under current ownership, and a replacement exhaust system was fitted in preparation for the sale. A transmission fluid leak is noted. Photos taken at various stages of refurbishment work are displayed in the gallery. The reproduction chassis tag was installed by the seller. The stamped chassis number—MAW51285825—appears on prior records from the UK shown in the gallery and is listed as the VIN on the current Washington State title, which bears a “Classic” brand.
