This 1962 Volkswagen Type 2 is a Deluxe Samba model that underwent refurbishment under prior ownership and was acquired by the seller on BaT in July 2020. It is powered by a replacement air-cooled 1.6L flat-four linked to a four-speed manual transaxle with gear reduction boxes. The body is finished in grey and red and features a sliding fabric sunroof, eight skylight windows, six pop-out side windows, and safari-style cargo glass and windshields. Additional details include a 12-volt electrical system, 15″ steel wheels, Coker Classic whitewall tires, drum brakes, and three rows of bench seating. This 23-window Samba is now offered by the seller with a clean Arizona title. The 23-window body was factory-finished in Sealing Wax Red (L53) and Beige Grey (L472) and was repainted as part of the refurbishment. Exterior details include deluxe trim, a sliding fabric sunroof, eight skylight windows, six pop-out side windows, dual side mirrors, and a safari-style back glass and windshields. Steel 15″ wheels wear chrome trim rings and VW-stamped hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series Coker Classic whitewall tires. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners. The front cabin houses a bench seat trimmed in two tone grey upholstery along with a color-coordinated kick panel and door cards. A black rubber floor mat lines the footwells, and additional appointments include sliding front windows, a parcel shelf, sliding front windows, a radio delete plate, and an overhead ventilation unit. Instrumentation consists of a central 80-mph VDO speedometer, a fuel gauge, and an analog clock. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 440 miles, which is said to be the distance traveled since the restoration was completed. True mileage is unknown. Dual swing-out doors on the right provide access to two rows of bench seating trimmed in matching upholstery. Jail bars are fitted in the rear cargo area. The replacement air-cooled 1.6L flat-four is fed by a single downdraft carburetor and features a 12-volt electrical system and Bosch ignition components. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle equipped with gear-reduction boxes.
