This car started life as a 1969 Porsche 911T Coupe and has been completely transformed into a 993 GT2 racer with an impressive build by well-known KMW Motorsports. The race-prepped 3.2-liter engine features Carillo rods and Mahle pistons and is mated to a 915 gearbox with a racing clutch. The fiberglass body is a flared 993 GT2 shell with a large adjustable wing and front spoiler. The seller prepared the car for both vintage HSR competition and more contemporary run groups in SCCA and elsewhere. He has campaigned it in three race weekends with several victories and says the car is fun to drive and very competitive in the right hands. This is a car you can race right now that comes with extra tires and extensive maintenance records and race history file. The sale includes two sets of Fiske competition wheels and new sets of both rain and dry weather tires. In order to meet GT2 class requirements, yellow tinted OEM 993 headlamps were installed along with a transponder, carbon fiber side view mirrors, tow hooks and up-to-date safety equipment. Silver paint looks to be in good condition throughout with some minor scuffs and chips on the front fascia. The seller notes the car was originally from California with a more mild build by S-Car-Go Porsche, but has been completely redone since coming to Florida with over $45k in upgrades and current technology. The gutted interior is painted in the same light blue as the body’s center stripe and features a full cage with low profile padding, new OMP halo race seat on a custom slider, and new OMP steering wheel mounted to a MOMO quick release hub. A tall shifter kit was installed for efficient gear changes and a new fire suppression system was added for further safety. A high-tech digital Motec CDL3 screen monitors all vitals and the car is wired for radio communications. Under the fiberglass deck lid lies a 3.2-liter flat six built by KMW Motorsports, which the seller notes has less than two hours since a complete rebuild. The drivetrain was rebuilt with Carillo rods, Mahle pistons, machined valve covers, performance oil cooler, race exhaust with same length headers (98 dB), and 80 liter fuel cell with external pump. A 915 gearbox with AP racing paddle box directs power through a 930 club diff and 8/31 ring and pinion along with a heavy duty clutch, lightweight flywheel, and steel braided oil lines. The brakes were upgraded to larger 993 Turbo calipers equipped with new brake sensors and Race Technology brake pads. Handling can be tailored to specific tracks and driving styles with three-way adjustable Protrack shocks fitted with Eibach Racing Springs and adjustable sway bars. With a documented build and recent major engine overhaul, this is a lot of car for the money and is eligible for a number of sanctioning bodies and race classes. The seller is moving to a 997 GT2 racer and is selling this car to fund that effort. Filed under: long hood, longhood
