This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was the subject of a modification process that began under prior ownership and continued following the current owner’s 2015 acquisition. Power is provided by a 388ci stroker V8 that is backed by a five-speed manual transmission, and the car rides on Forgeline wheels, composite monospring suspension, and Bilstein dampers. The revised bodywork is finished in black with dual gray stripes, and additional features include C6 Corvette-specification brakes, a center-exit exhaust setup, a roll bar, replacement bolstered seats, AutoMeter instrumentation, and black and brown upholstery. This modified C3 convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with two hardtops and Connecticut registration. The revised bodywork includes widened rear fenders and has been refinished in black with gray stripes over the raised hood and rear deck. Two hardtops will accompany the car, which also has hideaway headlights, a center-exit exhaust setup, and an exposed fuel filler. Forgeline 18″ wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich g-Force T/A tires. Suspension includes composite monospring kits, revised control arms, and Bilstein dampers. Red Corvette-branded C6-specification calipers are fitted over slotted rotors, and a Hydratech booster is installed. The car is equipped with power steering. The cabin has been retrimmed in black upholstery with brown accents on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. A roll bar, replacement bolstered seats, and Vintage Air climate controls are fitted. The Budnik steering wheel is mounted on a telescopic column and frames AutoMeter instrumentation, including a 10k-rpm tachometer. Auxiliary readouts are housed in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 16k miles, and total mileage is unknown. The seller notes that the V8 was modified circa 2010 to displace 388ci and fitted with a March Performance pulley system, a Be Cool radiator, MSD ignition, and a K&N open-element air filter. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The serial number 194679S723173 on the car is shown above, and the current Connecticut registration lists the VIN as 1946795723173, with a “5” in place of the “S” for the seventh digit. The car does not have a title as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its Connecticut registration, which lists “Antique” in the Registered Usage field. Filed under: c3
