ou’ve found the holy grail of Model A’s. This 1929 has undergone a thorough frame-off nuts and bolts restoration and his been driven about 1100 miles on dry roads. Departures from factory stock include an alternator and 5.5/1 compression “police special” head which was provided by the factory to police departments. This increase in compression makes a noticeable different in performance. ou can climb hills without slowing down and holding up traffic, ened valve seats allow pump gas without adding lead. Extra insulation on firewall and floor make conversation comfortable. Seatbelts are installed front and rear. The stock steering box which was manufactured with built-in slack has been replaced by a F-100 pickup unit which has absolutely NO slack. n signals are installed. The only other departure is the paint which is basecoat and three coats of clear in stock maroon with black fenders. This actually cost me points at a car show because the judge said no Model A was ever this shiny (It still wins awards). If you are looking for a “project car” this is certainly not what you want because it needs nothing except to be driven and enjoyed. If you are in the market for a classic automobile, you will do well to buy it from an obsessive-compulsive perfectionist. I am such an individual.
