This 1932 Ford Model 18 phaeton underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2003 and earned a Dearborn Award from the Early Ford V-8 Club in 2008 before it was purchased by the current owner later that year. The car is finished in green with black fenders over brown leather upholstery, and power comes from a replacement 221ci flathead V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, 18″ wire wheels, dual side-mount spares, cowl lamps, glass wind wings, a beige soft top, and a fold-down luggage rack with a storage trunk. This Model 18 phaeton is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with tools, a picnic set, a Dearborn Award plaque, and an Idaho title. The steel body is said to have been refinished in its factory Brewster Green with black fenders in the early 2000s using DuPont basecoat/clearcoat paint. Equipment includes chrome bumpers and headlight buckets as well as cowl lamps, a safety glass windshield and wind wings, running boards, a beige soft top with brown piping, rear-hinged rear doors, dual taillights, a chrome down-turned exhaust tip, and a fold-down luggage rack with a locking storage trunk. Apple Green-finished 18″ wire wheels wear chrome V8-branded hubcaps, and they are mounted with Firestone whitewall bias-ply tires. Matching side-mount spares topped with mirrors are mounted in the fenders. The Model 18 rides on a 106″ wheelbase and features front and rear transverse leaf springs. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel hydraulic drums that were installed during the 2000s refurbishment. The cabin features front and rear benches that were retrimmed in brown pleated leather reportedly sourced from LeBaron Bonney during the refurbishment. Color-matched door panels and front and rear carpets are also fitted. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a painted woodgrain steel dashboard and an engine-turned panel housing a 90-mph speedometer and an ammeter as well as a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows under 4k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement 221ci flathead V8 was reportedly sourced from a 1936 Ford, and it features hardened valve seats, a balanced crankshaft, and aluminum pistons as well as a Stromberg two-barrel carburetor. A replacement radiator was also installed in the 2000s. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission. A replacement clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing were reportedly installed during the 2000s refurbishment. The Idaho title lists a “not actual” mileage notation.
