This is a survivor drag car from the early 1960s. It ran in the AA/ dster class like the Dorman-Koopman and Hugh cars. Very few cars ran in that unique class and this one is being preserved as a piece of street rod and drag racing history.
HISTOR :

  • This car was built in 1960. It was raced in the Mid- ntic coast region till 1966. The center of the crank was 24" off the ground, per NHRA rules to limit the height of the cars for increased weight distribution and traction. Once the wrinkle wall slicks were introduced the AA/SR cars had to be radically lowered. The class died shortly after.
  • It was converted to a street rod sometime in the 1980s or 90s. Photos, as found in 2006 are shown. The roll bar was removed and a horn, alternator, stock windshield, and turn signals were added. The car was also lowered and raked. A passenger seat was added and then a period interior was added.

TODA :

  • A vintage style rollbar/cage was installed and matches the pickup points on the original 1932 frame. The chassis was raised up to the original racing height with the crank the correct 24" off the ground. The body is covered with hot rod gray primer with the original racing color and street rod colors still showing in a couple of areas that have been sanded down. fer to photos. ntage style lettering and graphics have been added.
