This 1936 Ford Model 68 Deluxe roadster was acquired by the seller’s late husband in 1993 and was subsequently refurbished. Work over a two-year period starting in 1996 reportedly consisted of stripping and refinishing the steel body and frame, installing replacement wood in the cowl, doors, and pillars, re-trimming the interior, overhauling the chassis, and rebuilding the 221ci flathead V8 and the three-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in Light Fast Maroon over brown leather upholstery and features a tan soft top, a rumble seat, a rear-mounted spare tire cover, driving lights, artillery-style steel wheels, chrome side mirrors, and dual brake lights. This Ford roadster is now offered with spare parts, refurbishment photos, car show awards, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name. The steel body was removed from the frame in approximately 1996, after which the paint was stripped and it was repainted in Light Fast Maroon. Details include a tan canvas soft top, tan pinstriping, a greyhound hood ornament, chrome bumpers, driving lights, running boards, wind wings, chrome side-view mirrors, and dual taillights with blue-dot lenses. The body-color artillery-style wheels wear V8-stamped hubcaps and are mounted with Coker Classic whitewall tires. A spare wheel is mounted under a body-color cover out back. Stopping power is provided by drums at all four corners. The brakes are said to have been serviced in 2020. The cabin features a bench seat that was reupholstered in brown leather along with matching door panels. Equipment includes an AM radio, a locking glovebox, and a floor shifter. The rumble seat is trimmed in matching upholstery and can be seen in the gallery. The three-spoke banjo-style steering wheel fronts a painted steel dashboard housing a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The fuel level gauge does not work. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles, approximately 200 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 221ci flathead V8 is said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment and is fed by a single carburetor topped with an oil-bath air cleaner. An oil change was performed in 2020, and the seller reports the engine leaks oil. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission. The transmission is said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment. Side curtains, spare parts, and car show awards are included in the sale. Photos taken during the refurbishment are shown in the gallery. The Ohio title is listed as a replacement. The car is titled using the VIN 3249597, though the seller has been unable to locate a corresponding number on the vehicle. Unmounted body serial number plates are displayed in the gallery.
