This 1941 Ford Super Deluxe is a red-over-brown woodie station wagon that is powered by a flathead V8 joined to a three-speed manual transmission and a Columbia two-speed rear end. Equipment includes 16” wheels, a roof rack, a two-piece tailgate, a 12-volt electrical system, and an AM radio. Restoration work completed in 2008 involved installing front disc brakes, repainting the steel body panels, re-trimming the three rows of bench seats, and repairing and refinishing the wood framing. The car reportedly appeared in the television series Manhattan following the refurbishment and was acquired by the seller in 2022. This woodie wagon is now offered with woodie-themed accessories, spare parts, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name. Trim options for the 1941 Ford lineup included Special, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe, with styling changes for the model year incorporating a widened body, revised headlights, and a three-piece grille. The steel body panels of this example were repainted in red, and the wood framing and paneling were refinished as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. A roof rack has been added, and other details include a black vinyl roof covering, sliding rear windows, a tailgate-mounted spare tire, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Decals have been applied to the side and rear windows, and replacement units will accompany the car and are shown in the gallery. Delamination in the glass and areas of repair and deterioration on the wood framing can be viewed in the gallery below. Body-color 16” steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and trim rings and are mounted with 6.00” Coker Classic whitewall tires. The front brakes have been converted to discs, while drums provide stopping power out back. The cabin features three rows of bench seating trimmed in brown vinyl, which is complemented by wood door panels and wood slats on the interior of the roof. Black rubber mats line the floors. The body-color dashboard houses an AM radio, and lap belts have been added for front occupants. Instrumentation consists of a 100-mph horizontal speedometer flanked by auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 2,900 miles, approximately 200 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The flathead V8 is equipped with a single carburetor topped by an oil-bath air cleaner. The electrical system has been converted to 12-volt operation. An oil change was performed in 2023. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission and a Columbia two-speed rear end. The frame stamping is shown above, and the number 186842448 is consistent with a 1942 Ford Model 21A produced for the 1942 model year. The same sequence is listed as the VIN listed on the current Maryland title, which describes the car as a 1941 model.
