This 1946 Mercury Eight Model 69M is one of a reported 2,797 four-door wagons produced for the US market and is said to have been refurbished in the 1960s, acquired by the current owner in 1980, and subsequently kept off the road for approximately four decades. The car is finished in maroon with wood body moldings over brown leather upholstery and is powered by a 239ci flathead V8 paired with a three-speed column-shift manual transmission. Equipment includes a fold-down tailgate, fender-mounted parking lights, a split windshield, and chrome bumpers with overriders as well as a heater and defroster, clock, and radio. This 69M woodie wagon is now offered on dealership consignment at no reserve with an operator’s manual and a clean California title. The metal bodywork was refinished in Dynamic Maroon during the refurbishment, according to the seller, while the Maple wood trim and Mahogany panels were treated and varnished at that time. Features include a fold-down tailgate, a split windshield, sliding side windows, and chrome front and rear bumpers with overriders. Photos for the listing were taken in July 2022. Steel 15″ wheels wear Mercury-branded hubcaps as well as trim rings and are mounted with Firestone tires. The cabin features three rows of bench seating reupholstered in brown leather. Wood trim lines the doors and ceiling. Equipment includes a radio, heater and defroster, and clock. Instrumentation includes a 110-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 4,400 miles, approximately 100 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 239ci flathead V8 is said to have been rebuilt as part of the refurbishment in the 1960s, and fluids were changed in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. The car is titled in California to its assigned identification number and is being sold on behalf of an estate.
