This 1947 Chrysler Town & Country convertible is finished in blue with wood paneling and a red soft top over red leather upholstery. Power is supplied by a 323.5ci inline-eight paired with a Fluid Drive semi-automatic transmission. Equipment includes wheel covers, whitewall tires, dual cowl-mounted spotlights, and an AM radio. The car was refurbished under prior ownership and was acquired by the selling dealer in late 2023. This New Yorker–series Town & Country is now offered in California with a clean Montana title that lists the model year as 1948. The car was finished from the factory in Newport Blue (3) and has been repainted. Features include ash and mahogany wood paneling for the doors, quarter panels, and rear deck as well as chrome bumpers and trim, dual cowl spotlights, dual sideview mirrors, and a turned-down exhaust tip. The power-operated red soft top stows under a matching canvas boot. Steel 15″ wheels are augmented by Chrysler-branded chrome hubcaps and trim rings and wrapped in 8.50-15 Coker Classic whitewall tires; a spare is stored in the trunk. The C39 Town & Country featured an independent front suspension with coil springs as well as a live rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs. Stopping power is provided by hydraulic drums at all four corners. The cabin features front and rear bench seats trimmed in red leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpeting. Equipment includes an AM radio, a heater, and a locking glovebox. The blue three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 110-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 48k miles, approximately 25 of which were added by the selling dealer; true mileage is unknown. The 323.5ci Spitfire L-head inline-eight features five main bearings and a single-barrel downdraft carburetor. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Fluid Drive semi-automatic transmission. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below. The car’s chassis number (7403987) is consistent with that of a Town & Country built for the 1947 model year, although the title lists the vehicle as a 1948. The engine number is pictured in the gallery and begins with the sequence C49, which is appropriate for an engine originally installed in a 1950 Chrysler Saratoga or New Yorker.
