This 1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster convertible was purchased by the seller out of Alabama in 2014, and a subsequent refurbishment completed in 2020 included the installation of a replacement 350ci V8, a four-speed automatic transmission, a C2 Corvette Posi-traction rear end, a Mustang II-style front suspension, front disc brakes, a hydraulic top mechanism, a tan soft top with a glass rear window, a VintageAir HVAC system, a Bluetooth stereo, and late-model Camaro power-adjustable bucket seats trimmed in tan leather. Finished in green with white ash and painted woodgrain exterior trim, the car is also equipped with a FAST fuel-injection system, power steering, and LED headlights, driving lamps, and reverse lights. This Fleetmaster convertible is now offered with factory literature, a pair of two-tone fender skirts, car show awards, a car cover, and an Arizona title in the name of the seller’s family trust. Chevrolet built 20,471 Fleetmaster convertibles for 1948 and offered the $149.50 dealer-installed Country Club option, which added white ash bodyside trim and woodgrain panels. This example was repainted in Traverse Green under current ownership. and the brightwork was re-plated at that time. The white ash trim was refinished, while woodgrain paint replaced the factory paneling. Features include LED headlights, driving lamps, and reverse lights as well as a hood ornament, side-view mirrors, and chrome down-turned exhaust tips. A pair of two-tone fender skirts is included in the sale and can be seen in the gallery. A replacement hydraulic top was also added during the refurbishment, along with a tan soft top and a glass rear window. The seller notes scratches on the bumpers, and paint chips can be seen in the gallery. The body-color steel wheels wear chrome Chevrolet hubcaps and trim rings, and they are mounted with Coker Classic whitewall radial tires. A spare wheel is stowed under a carpeted cover in the trunk. The suspension features a Mustang II-style independent front setup as well as Ridetech shocks at all four corners. The car is equipped with a power-assisted steering system, and stopping power is provided by front disc brakes and rear drums. The cabin features power-adjustable front bucket seats sourced from a late-model Chevrolet Camaro as well as a rear bench trimmed in tan leather along with matching door panels. Brown carpets line the floors, and additional equipment includes an under-dash VintageAir HVAC system with white pinstriping, a Bluetooth stereo, a clock, a center console, and front and rear lap belts. The two-tone steering wheel features a chrome horn ring, and it is mounted ahead of Classic Instruments gauges including a 140-mph speedometer. The six-digit odometer shows 4,600 miles since the completion of the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement 350ci V8 is equipped with a FAST fuel-injection system and ceramic-coated headers as well as a finned body-color air cleaner and valve covers. Additional features include MSD ignition, an aluminum radiator, and pinstriping on the firewall. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a Posi-traction rear end reportedly sourced from a 1964 Corvette. A replacement fuel tank and electric fuel pump were installed during the refurbishment. The Arizona title features a “Not Actual Mileage, warning odometer discrepancy” notation.
