This 1950 Ford Country Squire is a two-door “woodie” station wagon that was reportedly purchased by the current owner’s father-in-law in the 1970s. The wagon is said to have undergone a refurbishment in the early 1980s, with work including a repaint, refinishing of the exterior wood trim, an interior refresh, and rebuilds of the powertrain components. Power comes from a replacement flathead V8 mated to a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Features include chrome bumpers and exterior trim, a windshield visor, woodgrain paneling, dual spotlights, fold-down rear seating, and a heater. Work completed in preparation for the sale is said to have included an oil change, a brake fluid flush, a carburetor rebuild, and replacement of the fuel pump, tires, and ignition and brake components. This Woodie wagon is now offered on behalf of the current owner with a reproduction owner’s manual and a clean Ohio title in the owner’s name. The metal bodywork was reportedly refinished in red in the early 1980s and is accented with woodgrain appliqués and varnished wood trim. Additional features include a windshield visor, dual spotlights, sliding rear side windows, and a split rear tailgate. Blemishes and imperfections in the finish are shown in the gallery below. Painted 15″ steel wheels with bright hubcaps and trim rings are mounted with 205/75 Coker wide-whitewall tires that were recently mounted according to the seller. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums, and the system is said to have been serviced in preparation for the sale with a fluid flush and replacement of the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes, and hoses. The cabin houses two rows of bench seating upholstered in two-tone upholstery, while the doors, side panels, and rear cargo floor are comprised of wood trim. Controls for the heater and defroster are housed below the dashboard, which also houses an analog clock and radio, both of which are inoperative. A replacement white two-spoke steering wheel with a horn ring fronts a 100-mph speedometer with an inset ammeter and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 88k miles, and total mileage is unknown. According to the seller, the fuel gauge and right turn signal function intermittently, and the horn, dome light, and instrument lights are inoperative. Additional photos showing the wood flooring, door panels, and side panel trim are provided in the gallery below. The replacement flathead V8 is believed to be a 239ci unit and features a single downdraft carburetor. Service completed in preparation for the sale included an oil change and carburetor rebuild along with the replacement of the fuel pump, distributor cap and rotor, vacuum advance, and spark plugs according to the seller, who also notes the steering linkage is loose. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Additional photos showing the suspension, chassis, and driveline, as well as corrosion on portions of the mechanicals are presented in the gallery below.
