1951 BUICK ROADMASTER CONVERTIBLE MODEL 76-C. ONE OF 2,911 BUILT, THIS IS BOD # 2886, JUST 25 FROM THE END OF THE PRODUCTION. 63 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES ON THE ODOMETER, THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SAME FAMIL SINCE DECEMBER 1969, WHEN IT POSTED 40,000 MILES.
PAINTED IN A SPRING RELEASE COLOR “GLENN GREEN”. THIS WAS STORED IN A HEATED GARAGE FROM 1995 UNTIL JUL OF 2023 AND A MECHANICAL RESTORATION WAS COMPLETED AT BLEVINS VINTAGE RESTORATIONS IN GETT SBURG, PA. FROM JUL 2023 TO THE PRESENT. THE FOLLOWING TASKS WERE COMPLETED DURING THIS “AWAKENING” OF THE 76-C.
ALL BRAKES AND MASTER C LINDER REBUILT/REPLACED. TORQUE BALL KIT INSTALLED IN D NAFLOW, FLUID DRAINED AND FRESH FLUID REPLACED. FRESH REAR AXLE FLUID ADDED WITH FRESH REAR AXLE COVER GASKET. THE RADIATOR WAS DRAINED AND FLUSHED. THE GAS TANK WAS REMOVED, COOKED, LEANED AND SEALED AS WELL AS ALL FUEL LINES BEING CLEANED , INSPECTED AND REPLACED[RUBBER] WHERE NEEDED. ALL WINDOWS WERE LUBED AND THE H DROLECTRIC PUMP CLEANED AND NEW FLUID INSTALLED. TOP LUBED AND FUNCTION RESTORED TO 100% . HI ZINC OIL WAS INSTALLED WITH A FRESH OIL FILTER.
THIS CAR HAS SERIOUS PEDIGREE- SHOWN AT THE VER 1ST BCA NATIONAL MEET IN FLINT MICHIGAN IN 1971 AND IS SHOWN ON PAGE 226 OF “SEVENT EARS OF BUICK”, WITH CREDITS TO RICHARD BO ER. IT IS A CHVA SENIOR CAR, A BUICK CLUB OF AMERICA 1ST CLASS WINNER IN 1973 AND AN AACA SENIOR CAR IN 1979 WITH 14 PRESERVATION AWARDS. IT IS ALSO SHOWN IN THE COLOR SECTION OF THE BOOK, “BUICK THE COMPLETE HISTOR ”. THIS SAME PICTUE WAS AIR BRUSHED AND PRINTED ONTO THE SHOWROOM BANNER SENT TO EVER BUICK DEALERSHIP WITH THE REINTRODUCTION OF THE ROADMASTER IN 1991. STANDARD FEATURES FOR THE ROADMASTER WERE POWER WINDOWS [4] POWER TOP AND WHITE WALL TIRES, AS WELL AS RADIO. THESE TIRES HAVE LESS THAN 100 MILES ON THEM AND WERE INSTALLED FRESH FROM COKER JUST PRIOR TO HERSHE 2023.. ACCESSORIES INCLUDE THE DELUXE INNER FRONT CHROME BUMPER GUARDS[ WHICH WERE MADE STANDARD ON ALL 1952’S], BUICK SPARE TIRE COVER, BUICK ACCESSOR JACK BAG, AND DELUXE TRUNK FLOOR MAT.
THE CONVERTIBLE TOP BOOT IS ALSO MADE FROM THE CORRECT CANVAS AND WAS COPIED FROM AN ORIGINAL BOOT BORROWED FROM A FELLOW 1951 BUICK 76-C . OWNER
