This 1952 MG TD was acquired by the seller in 2007 and subsequently fitted with a fuel-injected 383ci small-block V8, a five-speed manual transmission, Chassisworks independent front suspension, a Jaguar Power Lock IRS rear end, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, Kirkey racing seats, AutoMeter gauges, and a dual exhaust system. The bodywork was also repainted in green and the chassis was powder-coated in black. Additional equipment includes 16” steel wheels, a black soft top, side curtains, a chrome luggage rack, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, a removable roll bar, and MG-branded harnesses. This V8 TD is now offered with a top boot, refurbishment photos, car show awards, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The seller purchased the car as a project in 2007 and subsequently removed the body from the frame and repainted it in green. Exterior details include chrome brightwork, a red grille, wind wings, windshield-mounted side mirrors, a flip-down luggage rack, and a black soft top and top boot. A set of side curtains will accompany the car. The 16” steel wheels were reportedly sourced from a Chevrolet Camaro police cruiser and wear chrome MG-branded hub caps. They are mounted with 225/55 front and 255/50 rear BFGoodrich G-Force Sport tires. Following the seller’s purchase the chassis was modified with a Chris Alston Chassisworks independent front suspension, a Jaguar-sourced IRS rear end, front and rear sway bars, and four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes. The cockpit features aluminum Kirkey racing seats upholstered in tan vinyl and fitted with electric heaters. Interior amenities include a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, rear-hinged doors, a removable roll bar, MG-branded harnesses, and cup holders. Sound-deadening material was installed during refurbishment. Auto Meter instrumentation has been installed and includes a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage. The digital odometer indicates 4k miles, which is said to reflect the mileage driven since the build was completed. The 383ci Chevrolet V8 was installed by the seller and is fitted with Edelbrock Pro-Flo electronic fuel injection, an Accel ignition system, custom-fabricated exhaust headers, and a dual exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission and a Salisbury Power Lock differential with 3.48:1 gearing. Photos of the build process can be found in the gallery.
