This 1954 Chevrolet Corvette is the 3,571st of 3,640 examples produced for the second model year of Corvette production. The car resided in Pennsylvania for decades prior to the selling dealer’s acquisition in 2022, and it was repainted and refurbished in the late-1980s and mid-1990s. It is finished in White over Red vinyl and is powered by a 235ci “Blue Flame” inline-six paired with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Features include 15” red-finished steel wheels with faux knock-off spinners as well as a beige soft top, a curved windshield, clip-on side curtains, wire mesh headlight guards, an AM radio, a heater, and a dash-mounted rear-view mirror. The car received NCRS Top Flight awards in 1988 and 1995, as well as Bloomington Gold certification in 1995. This C1 Corvette is now offered by the selling dealer with award documentation, the removable side curtains and storage bags, and a clean Pennsylvania title. The car was refinished in Polo White in 1988 according to the selling dealer, and details include a beige convertible top, a curved windshield, a chrome grille, wire mesh headlight guards, and clip-on side curtains with Plexiglass windows as well as Chevrolet fender badging, a three-piece rear bumper, and dual exhaust outlets exiting through the rear valance. Red-finished 15” steel wheels wear polished covers with faux knock-off spinners and are mounted with 6.70-15″ Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewall tires that were mounted in 2021 according to the selling dealer. The C1 was equipped from the factory with an independent front suspension, front and rear hydraulic shocks, and a live rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes. The selling dealer states the suspension and brakes were overhauled in the mid-1990s. The bucket seats are faired into the rear bodywork and trimmed in red vinyl, and they are complemented by a color-coordinated dash pad and door panels. Interior appointments include a dash-mounted rear-view mirror, an AM radio, an analog clock, a heater, courtesy lights, a floor-mounted shifter, and polished door sills. The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a 140-mph speedometer. A central 5k-rpm tachometer is flanked by gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 3k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 235ci “Blue Flame” inline-six was factory equipped with three Carter YH side-draft carburetors. The selling dealer states the engine was rebuilt in 1995, and an oil-change and tune-up were completed in 2021. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, which is also said to have been rebuilt in 1995. Bloomington Gold and NCRS award certifications will accompany the car. Filed under: c1
