This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad was modified and refurbished in 2023, and it is powered by a GM Performance Parts ZZ6 small-block V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The car rides on a C4 Corvette chassis with adjustable coilovers, rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and 17″ chrome split-spoke wheels, and the exterior is finished in pearl maroon with chrome trim. The cabin was reupholstered in white and red leather and outfitted with Vintage Air climate control, a retro-look digital stereo, Dakota Digital instrumentation, and a power-adjustable bench seat. Acquired by the current owner in 2023 and listed on BaT in October 2024, this modified Nomad is offered again on dealer consignment with service records and a clean Nevada title. The car was refinished in pearl maroon during the build, and details include a hood ornament, hooded headlights, dual chrome mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers and trim. Close-up photos of the paint and trim are provided in the gallery. The car rides on a C4 Corvette chassis with adjustable coilovers, rack-and-pinion steering, and a transverse rear leaf spring. Split-spoke 17″ wheels wear Toyo Extensa HP tires, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with slotted and drilled rotors. The cabin features a power-adjustable front bench trimmed in white and red leather, and matching upholstery extends to the rear bench and door panels. Red carpets line the floors, and interior appointments include Vintage Air climate control, a retro-look digital radio, bowtie dashboard trim, and carpeted floor mats. The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to an Ididit column and sits ahead of a suite of Dakota Digital readouts including a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The odometer shows 201 miles, which is said to represent the mileage accumulated since the build was completed. Total mileage is unknown. The GM Performance Parts ZZ6 small-block crate V8 was installed in 2024 and reportedly utilizes a forged crankshaft and connecting rods along with four-bolt main bearings and a hydraulic roller camshaft. Factory-rated output was 405 horsepower. Cooling is provided by an oversized Derale aluminum radiator and an electric fan. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. The dual exhaust system features electric cut-outs and Flowmaster mufflers. A detailed video showing the underbody components is provided in the gallery. Decoding the trim tag reveals the following information: Style: 55-1064DF– 1955 Bel Air two-door Nomad Wagon Body: CL 800 – Cleveland, Ohio, assembly; body number Trim: 513 – Ivory vinyl with turquoise waffle-pattern cloth Paint: 614 – Shoreline Beige and Glacier Blue paint
