This beautiful 1956 Chrysler New er was previously owned by Richard and Karen ter. Richard’s automobile collection numbered around twenty-five, mostly MOPAR cars, in a commercial building appropriately named “ rday Once More” after one of their songs. After being purchased by its current owner, it was proudly displayed for several years at the east Classic Car eum in , New , where it attained additional celebrity.
This stunning rose over white New er two-door hardtop is equipped with power windows, seats, steering and brakes. When originally purchased it had only 12,000 miles on the odometer, it was in perfect condition, and everything on the inside and outside was completely original. Only the belts, battery and wiring harness had been replaced. Even the spare tire was original. It was well-received at an AACA National event, where it earned its Historical Preservation Award.
Included in the purchase: All original documentation, detailed service records, articles, photos and assorted memorabilia and a 1956 Calendar featuring the ter car on the cover. In addition to all these treasures was a scrapbook compiled by Karen ter for her brother containing photos and memorabilia from car shows they attended on the west Coast. Also included was a 20-page booklet entitled “ ter Decade” describing their rise to fame and the numerous recordings they made together during all those early years as their music attained worldwide celebrity.
Whenever displayed at urs d’Elegance events and classic car shows, this original 1956 New er is admired for its Soft se over Cloud color combination, inside and out. Onlookers are fascinated by its authenticity, pristine condition and history and have trouble believing it has only a tad over 13,000 miles on the odometer.
This fornia car’s existence is a well-kept secret with its ultra low mileage and continues to attract crowds when displayed at fund raising events and car shows. rt from its two-year stay at the east Classic Car eum, where it attracted a great deal of attention because of its historical and colorful background and celebrity status, it has been lovingly maintained and seldom driven. It represents a perfect blend of high performance with quiet sophistication in one powerful and glamorous automobile so reminiscent of the ter’s unique talent and many contributions to the music industry and the time-honored decade of the Fifties.
