1957 Volvo Duett Blue & Cream two-tone PV 445 Estate Wagon – SUV

Extremely RARE one of the first USA 445-08 Duetts produced with B16 Dual Carburetor Sports ne and 4 Spd.  A truly iconic lvo that began their durable gons and SUV’s to follow.  The ‘Duett’ name comes from its ‘dual-use’ for Sport or Utility. The rear seat folds down flat to maximize cargo capacity, and the desirable factory original wood-slat of gage Rack increases cargo carry for kayaks, surfboards, canoes, and extra gear.

stored original Blue & Cream paint was clay-barred smooth, wet sanded, and patina finished with high-quality automotive clear-coat to preserve 67+ years of gentle wear.  Small dings and scratches, wear marks, and small scuffs are all preserved under a deep clear finish enhancing its beauty as a true ‘survivor’. The Chrome really stands out against the rich deep blue finish. Always popular at car shows earning several ‘First-In-Class’ awards.

Complete new original specification Swedish made Interior, from flannel headliner to seat covers in original blue/black vinyl, matching wind-lace, door & window seals, and lvo custom floor mats. Floorboards were repaired and coated with POR-15 hardened protectant, and sound-deadening padding was added under new floor mats and above the headliner. ly refinished interior wood panels accent the vehicle’s utility. The original interior paint only required cleaning and wax to preserve its patina and originality.

y mechanical upgrades have been done to make this a dependable driver including:
·         Original B16A engine replaced with a newer B16B, and transmission updated to newer M40
New clutch, throw-out bearing, driveshaft bearings, transmission serviced for smooth shifts.

The period correct Wide wall s have plenty of tread, have been recently driven on regularly, but they are beyond best use date, so new owner may feel appropriate to replace from sources like . The rear door lock is inoperable and has been removed, now with a blank cover; but I have a replacement lock, and 2+ sets of keys for doors and ignition. There’s some rust on panels underneath rear bumpers, otherwise the body is good. y extra parts, and accessories that will go with the vehicle including a weather resistant car cover, wood slat cargo box, and the surfboard shown on roof rack. I have the lvo factory service manuals and detailed lvo parts manual which will be included. normal wear items should be readily available from classic lvo sources like VP-autoparts.com in the future because the Duett shares many components with the popular lvo 444, 544 and zon 120 series of the same era that lvo sold in the millions worldwide, with many still in service.
