This 1960 Mercedes-Benz 190SL is a stalled refurbishment project that was acquired by the seller in 2003. The body was refinished in blue, and the body shell and doors have since been stripped and covered in primer. Additional work has reportedly included rebuilding the 1.9-liter inline-four, refreshing the four-speed manual transmission, overhauling the driveshaft and axles, and replacing the floor pans. This 190SL is now offered at no reserve with a data card, manufacturer’s literature, spare and removed parts, records, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name. Originally finished in Light Creme, the car was repainted in dark blue. The body shell and doors have been stripped and covered in primer. A black hardtop accompanies the vehicle, along with various lenses and trim and replacement door and trunk seals. The rocker panels have not been secured and the seller notes that the front grille surround and one headlamp housing are missing. Steel 13″ wheels wear 175-13X Michelin Radial tires. The car is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension, rear swing axles with coil springs, and power-assisted drum brakes. The seller states that the axles were rebuilt during current ownership and the brakes were also serviced, including rebuilding the brake booster and replacing the master cylinder. Replacement shocks accompany the vehicle. The cabin has been stripped and replacement floors have been installed. Blue leather bucket seats, color-coordinated door panels, and various gauges and steering wheels are shown in the gallery. The 1.9-liter M121 inline-four was reportedly rebuilt, along with the starter and generator. A replacement wiring harness, water pump, and radiator are included in the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission, which is said to have been fitted with replacement bearings and seals under current ownership. The driveshaft was also rebuilt and a replacement clutch installed. The data card lists the original colors and serial numbers, and the removed chassis tags are included in the sale, along with repair manuals, manufacturer’s literature, and various spare and removed parts as shown in the gallery.
