This 1961 Cadillac Series 62 convertible was purchased by the seller in October 2016, and a refurbishment under prior ownership included a repaint in black and reupholstering the cabin in red leather. The car is powered by a 390ci V8 linked with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes a power-operated black convertible top, power steering, power-assisted brakes, 15″ wire-spoke wheels, a power-adjustable front seat, red seat belts, an AM radio, a concealed aftermarket audio system, and air conditioning. This Series 62 convertible is now offered with service records and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The car was finished from the factory in Bristol Blue but has been repainted in black, and exterior details include a replacement power-operated black convertible top, a red top boot, quad headlights, a driver-side mirror, rear-wheel spats, and tail fins with integrated taillights as well as chrome bumpers, window surrounds, and trim. Chipping is noted beneath the trunk lid. Chromed 15″ wire-spoke wheels are mounted with Hankook Kinergy ST tires. Power steering was standard, and braking is provided by power-assisted drums. The automatic parking brake release does not work. The cabin has been reupholstered in red leather, and the bench seats are equipped with red seatbelts. The front bench is power-adjustable, and the sound system features a pushbutton radio as well as iPhone-compatible audio components beneath the front bench. The car is equipped with power windows and air conditioning. A battery-cutoff switch has been installed, and the cigarette lighter must be depressed to start the car. The right-rear window does not roll up and an imperfection in the dashboard on the right-hand side is shown in the gallery below. The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 6k miles, although it does not work, and total mileage is unknown. The 390ci V8 was factory equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 325 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. An oil leak is noted. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Decoding the body plate reveals the following information: 01C – First week of March production date Style: 61 – 6267  – 1961 Convertible Body: 5941  – Fleetwood body number Paint: 22 – Bristol Blue Trim: 23 – Blue leather ACC: EHKY – Soft Ray Glass, heater, air conditioning, and electric front seat The car is titled under the number 61F055610, the first several characters of which are visible on the plastic engine-number tag shown above.
