This 1961 Mercedes-Benz 220SE cabriolet was refurbished under prior ownership and is said to have remained registered in Oregon from new through the current owner’s purchase in 2003. It is powered by a fuel-injected 2.2L inline-six paired with a column-shifted four-speed manual transmission and is finished in red over beige leather. Equipment includes a black convertible soft top, 13″ steel wheels with color-matched chrome hubcaps, fog lights, chrome bumpers with overriders, individual front seats, woodgrain trim, a heater, and a Becker Europa radio. This W128 cabriolet is now offered on dealer consignment with service records, spare parts, and a clean Oregon title in the name of the owner’s trust. The car was refinished in red after body damage was repaired on the front end in 1991. The bumpers and trim were re-plated in the 2000s. Features include a black convertible soft top, a tan boot cover, front vent windows, fog lights, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The 13″ steel wheels feature color-matched chrome hubcaps and are mounted with Michelin Radial X tires. The suspension includes an independent double-wishbone front setup with coil springs along with a rear single-joint swing axle. Stopping power is provided by drums at all four corners. The refreshed cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in beige leather, and wood trim accents the dash and A-pillars. Amenities include individual front seats, lap belts, a dashboard-mounted clock, a heater, and a Becker Europa radio. The driver’s seat was repaired and the clutch and brake pedal pads were replaced in preparation for the sale. The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 92k miles. The gauge cluster was repaired in preparation for the sale. True mileage is unknown. The 2.2-liter M127 inline-six is equipped with mechanical fuel injection and was factory rated at 115 horsepower and 137 lb-ft of torque. The engine was rebuilt in 1975 and received valve work and new gaskets in 1989. The battery was replaced in August 2023. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The VIN plate lists the chassis number as 12803010003680 while the VIN on the title shows just the last six digits, 003680. Spare parts and service records are included in the sale.
