This 1961 Porsche 356B roadster . Finished in red over black upholstery, the car is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four mated to a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a black convertible top, chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels, finned drum brakes, Koni shocks, and an Alpine cassette stereo. The 356B roadster was introduced for the 1960 model year as a successor to the Convertible D, and this example features bodywork by D’Ieteren Frères of Belgium. The car left the factory in Ruby Red (6002) and is said to have been repainted in the 1980s. Exterior details include a black soft top, a left mirror, a single decklid grille, H4 headlamps, and body-color bumpers with chrome overriders and integrated exhaust outlets. Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 185/65 Continental ContiProContact tires, while a matching spare is stored in the front trunk compartment. Koni shocks are fitted at each corner, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel finned drum brakes. Pitting is visible on the bright hubcaps. The interior features a pair of low-back bucket seats that have been re-trimmed in black vinyl and are complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Black and red coco-style mats cover the gray squareweave carpets, and additional appointments include lap belts, map pockets, and an Alpine cassette stereo. The three-spoke steering wheel features a Porsche crest horn button and frames a central 6k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge, while an oil pressure gauge is mounted centrally on the body-color dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows less than 3,600 miles, and total mileage is unknown. The 1.6-liter flat-four is equipped with dual Dellorto carburetors that breathe through K&N mesh air cleaners. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Corrosion is visible on the muffler, and additional underside images are presented in the gallery below.
