1962 Cadillac Eldorado

This 1962 Cadillac Biarritz is one of approximately 1,450 examples produced for the model year and is powered by a 390ci V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Finished in metallic pink over white leather upholstery, the car is equipped with a power-operated white soft top, rear fender skirts, cornering lights, 15″ wheels, power steering, power-assisted brakes, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and locks, a power-adjustable front seat, a remote trunk lock release, and Guide-Matic headlight dimming control. Work in preparation for the sale involved replacing the steering box seals and gear, wide-whitewall tires, air conditioning drier, fuel pump, fuel sending unit, fuel level sensor, water pump, battery, spark plugs, points, and gaskets for the oil pan, transmission pan, and valve covers along with performing an oil change. This Eldorado Biarritz is now offered by the selling dealer in South Carolina with a clean North Carolina title. Finished from the factory in Pinehurst Green, this example was refinished in its current shade of metallic pink under previous ownership. Exterior details include a power-operated white soft top, rear fender skirts, chrome bumpers, cornering lights, and fog lights. Blemishes in the paint and on the rear bumper are pointed out in the image gallery below. The 15″ wheels feature Cadillac-branded covers with body-color accents and were mounted with 235/75 Auburn wide-whitewall tires in August 2023. The car is equipped with independent front suspension as well as power steering and power-assisted brakes. Work since May 2023 involved repairing a power steering line and replacing the steering box seals and gear. The interior features white leather upholstery with matching door panels and black carpets. Amenities include air conditioning, a power-adjustable front seat, a remote trunk lock release, cruise control, power windows and locks, and Guide-Matic headlight dimming control with a dash-mounted sensor. The radio is inoperative. The passenger vent window gear was repaired in May 2023, and the air conditioning drier was replaced in September 2023, at which time an STV valve eliminator kit was installed. The two-spoke black and white steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 37k miles, approximately 150 of which were added by the selling dealer. Wiring for the generator indicator and fuel level gauge was repaired in September 2023. Total mileage is unknown. The 390ci V8 is equipped with a black air cleaner housing and blue-finished valve covers. Work since May 2023 involved replacing the oil pan gasket, fuel pump, fuel sending unit, fuel level sensor, water pump, battery, spark plugs, points, and valve cover gaskets along with performing an oil change in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The transmission pan gasket was replaced in May 2023.
