This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette was acquired by the current owner in 2014 and underwent a multi-year refurbishment that was completed in 2017. Work involved installing a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 and a six-speed manual transmission, fitting a replacement frame, and refinishing the car in red. The car also has C4 Corvette suspension components, Bilstein dampers, four-wheel disc brakes, and C6-style wheels in addition to a black soft top and a body-color removable hardtop. The interior was overhauled with red leather upholstery, a Vintage Air climate control system, and a Rockford Fosgate multimedia head unit. This modified C1 Corvette is now offered on the owner’s behalf with build records and photos as well as a Oregon title in the owner’s name. The bodywork was refinished in red with matching coves and fitted over a Newman Car Creations powder-coated frame. A black soft top is fitted and joined by a removable body-color hardtop. Suspension consists of C4 Corvette-specification components and Bilstein dampers at all four corners, and the car rides on C6 17″ wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan tires. Power steering is installed, and the braking system features four-wheel discs, a Wilwood master cylinder, and stainless-steel lines. The cockpit houses bucket seats upholstered in red leather that was sourced from Al Knoch Interiors as well as a fabricated center console with cupholders. Additional features include a Vintage Air climate control system, power windows, and a Rockford Fosgate multimedia head unit. The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted on a Flaming River column and frames a 160-mph speedometer with inset digital readouts as well as an 8k-rpm tachometer and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 879 miles. The LS376/480 6.2-liter V8 was fitted from the factory with an LS Hot Cam and installed as part of the build. Components include a Be Cool radiator, stainless-steel headers, and a stainless-steel fuel tank. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission and a Dana 44 rear axle with a 3.73 gear set. A 3″ aluminum driveshaft and a Borla exhaust system are also fitted. Photos of the car during the refurbishment process will accompany the car along with build documentation. Filed under: c1
