1962 Jaguar XKE Series I

This 1962 Jaguar XKE Series I Roadster is said to have been purchased by the current owner’s father in California in 1977, and a subsequent refurbishment included a repaint in red, replacement of the black soft top, and an interior re-trim in black leather. The car is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes 15″ knockoff wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, covered headlights, chrome bumpers, a push-button radio, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This Series I XKE is now offered on dealer consignment with a clean California title. The car was reportedly refinished in its current shade of red in the 1980s. Exterior features include a replacement black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, covered headlights, dual center-exit exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The five-digit odometer shows 30k kilometers (~19k miles), approximately 3k kilometers (~ 2k miles) of which were added under current ownership, and true mileage is unknown. The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and polished aluminum valve covers. The seller states that tuning will be necessary before extensive driving, and recommends replacing the belts and hoses. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
