This 1963 Chevrolet Impala convertible underwent cosmetic refurbishment work before it was purchased by the owner’s father from Sierra Chevrolet in Colfax, California, in 1995, and later acquired by the current owner in 2017. Power is provided by a replacement 283ci V8 paired with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, and the car is finished in red over matching vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes 14″ steel wheels, an ivory soft top, a bright taillight panel and side moldings, chrome bumpers, bench seating, a push-button AM radio, and a Bluetooth-capable stereo. Work since 2019 has consisted of overhauling the front suspension and installing a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system. This Impala is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a binder of documentation and a clean California title in the owner’s name. Finished from the factory in Ermine White, the seller states that the car underwent rust repair and a repaint in red in the 1990s. Features include an ivory soft top, a red top boot, a bright taillight panel and side moldings, chrome bumpers, quad headlamps, LED tail lights, and polished dual exhaust outlets. The “Impala” lettering is missing from the right side molding, and corrosion and bubbles in the paint are noted by the seller and visible in the gallery. Steel 14″ wheels wear SS-style full covers and are mounted with 215/70 Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II tires that have discolored thin whitewalls. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel drum brakes. The front suspension bushings were replaced in 2020, and the seller reports that the car needs an alignment. The power steering system has been disconnected. The front and rear bench seats are upholstered in red vinyl and complimented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Additional equipment includes polished dashboard trim, lap belts, a passenger grab handle, polished door sills, and a push-button AM radio. The seller states that a Bluetooth-capable stereo is hidden behind the dashboard. The driver’s seat lower cushion upholstery is ripped. The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. A Holley Sniper EFI display is mounted to the steering column. The five-digit odometer shows 24k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement 283ci V8 is equipped with a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system and a Holley Hyper Spark ignition system. A remote-mount oil filter kit was installed on the driver-side inner fender under current ownership. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. The seller reports that U-joints were replaced under current ownership. Corrosion is visible on various underside components, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery below. The trim tag is decoded as follows: 7C – Built in the third week of July Style: 63 -1867 –1963 Impala two-door convertible Body: JA10909 –Janesville, Wisconsin, assembly plant Trim: 886-2 – Red Interior Trim Paint: 936 – Ermine White Paint A binder of service records and documents is included in the sale.
