This 1963 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster t. Work involved refinishing the body in white, refreshing the interior in red leather upholstery, and overhauling the 3.8-liter inline-six, suspension, and brake system. The car is equipped with a replacement four-speed manual transmission, which was rebuilt in July 2023. Additional features include a black soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a stainless steel dual exhaust system, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM push-button radio. Service performed since 2022 involved adjusting the triple SU carburetors, installing electronic ignition components, replacing the fuel pump, and overhauling the clutch components.  Finished from the factory in Cream, the body was stripped to bare metal and refinished during the aforementioned refurbishment. A number of trim pieces were either replaced or refinished at that time, and exterior details include a black soft top with a matching boot, recessed headlights with clear covers, split chrome-finished bumpers, a louvered forward-hinged hood, triple windshield wipers, and taillights mounted above the rear bumpers.  The car is equipped with a fully independent suspension, which was overhauled as part of the refurbishment. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, with the rears mounted inboard.  The reupholstered interior features low-back buckets seats trimmed in red leather accompanied by a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Textured aluminum trim adorns the dash and center console, while the Blaupunkt AM/FM push-button radio is linked to speakers mounted on each side of the center stack. The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. Auxiliary gauges are housed in the center of the dash above a row of toggle switches for vehicle functions. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, and total mileage is unknown. The 3.8-liter inline-six was rebuilt by Vintage Restorations as part of the refurbishment. Work performed since 2022 involved adjusting the triple SU carburetors, installing electronic ignition components, and replacing the fuel pump. Additional work performed at that time include replacing the bell housing, overhauling the clutch components, and resurfacing the flywheel. A stainless steel dual exhaust system has been installed. The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates. Filed under: e type, e-type
