This 1963 Volkswagen Type 2 panel van has been refinished in red over a refurbished tan and wood-trimmed interior, and its replacement 1.6-liter flat-four is paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include an aftermarket exhaust, an oil cooler, a 12-volt electrical system, a front bench seat, a rear-facing middle-row bench, a rear bench seat that converts into a bed, a push-button radio, fold-out front and rear windows, a roof rack, a lowered suspension, and 15″ EMPI wheels.

The bus is said to have been refinished in Porsche-sourced Signal Red and features a stainless-steel roof rack with wood slats as well as fold-out front and rear windows, chrome bumpers, and Deluxe-style trim. The surfboard pictured on the roof rack will accompany the vehicle. Polished 15″ EMPI wheels are mounted with 185/60 Michelin and Continental tires. The suspension has been modified with flipped spindles and lowering springs, and it utilizes an adjustable narrowed front beam. The interior features a split-folding bench seat up front, and a rubber liner covers the floors. A push-button radio is mounted in the dash. A two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of instrumentation that includes a VDO 80-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge to the left. The five-digit odometer shows 82k miles, less than 100 of which have been added by the current owner. True mileage is unknown. Custom birch panels trim the rear area as well as the front and side doors. The front and rear bench seats are trimmed in replacement tan vinyl with red piping, and the bus has no side windows. The front-facing rear bench seat folds flat into a bed, and the liftgate provides secondary access at the rear. The replacement AH-code flat-four is said to displace 1,641cc and is equipped with a single carburetor. Modifications include an aftermarket exhaust, a remote oil filter, an oil cooler with an electric fan, and a 12-volt electrical system. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Freeway Flyer four-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
