Features include a Holley electric fuel pump, four-wheel disc brakes, Fergat steel wheels, driving lamps, a black soft top, and a retractable antenna. Service performed in preparation for the sale included the fabrication of a replacement rear bumper, powder-coating of the wheels, repairs of the seatbacks, and the installation of a brake master cylinder and a hood pad. Approximately 2,255 examples of the Touring-bodied 2600 Spider were produced between 1962 and 1965. This example is finished in red and features front driving lights, a hood scoop, a driver-side mirror, a retractable antenna, a black soft top, and Touring hood and fender badges. A replacement rear bumper was fabricated in preparation for the sale, and the headlight rings were rechromed. Paint bubbles on the driver’s door can be seen in the gallery along with other imperfections in the finish. The Fergat steel wheels were powder-coated in preparation for the sale, and they are mounted with chrome hubcaps and 185R400 Michelin X radial tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are stowed beneath the trunk floor. The 2600 Spider features a coil-sprung independent front suspension and a live rear axle. The cockpit features low-back bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black upholstery along with a color-matched dashboard and door panels. Gray carpets line the floors, and additional equipment includes a dashboard-mounted rear-view mirror, a central locking glovebox, a heater, front lap belts, and Alfa Romeo/Touring-branded front rubber floor mats. The seatbacks were repaired in preparation for the sale. The three-spoke steering wheel frames Veglia instrumentation including a 150-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant and oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 29k miles. The 2.6-liter DOHC inline-six was factory rated at 145 horsepower and is equipped with triple Solex PHH carburetors. The engine was rebuilt in 2009 with the installation of replacement bearings, piston rings, and valve guides, a resizing of the connecting rods, a refinishing of the cylinder head, an enlargement of the oil passages, and a rebuild of the water pump. A replacement hood pad was installed in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. A Holley electric fuel pump has been added.
